The Somali Community Network
SCN is a registered community service co-operative, led by Somali women and based in Surrey, British Columbia. We support Somali families across the Lower Mainland by creating culturally safe, responsive spaces for mothers, elders, youth, and children. Our programs serve both newly arrived and long-established community members.
We offer community-led programming grounded in cultural preservation, intergenerational healing, and equitable access to care. Through partnerships, education, and outreach, we work to address systemic barriers by building a strong, connected Somali community rooted in autonomy.
VISION STATEMENT
“We envision a thriving Somali community in British Columbia, rooted in culture, connected across generations, and supported by equitable access to care, education, and opportunity.
Our long term vision is to have a permanent community centre that will serve as a culturally grounded hub for healing, learning, and collective growth.”
